Welcome to Lounge Bar Crime, (Est 2021) You could be forgiven for thinking every ‘True Crime’ enthusiast has a dark side, because ?? well the subject is dark. But – see that’s just not always the case. I’ve been told I add ‘A Trademark Humour to my videos – usually at the criminal’s expense youtube.com/@LoungeBarCrime/videos But the real pull towards true crime for me has always been the WHY??
I’ve followed True Crime since it was frowned upon to take an interest. Back in my early teens when I was skipping school and if I wasn’t with friends I was waiting for Crown Court, a British television courtroom drama series which which ran from 1972 to 1984. By my late teens and early 20’s I always looked for the crime article in my dad’s Readers Digest. I was also the one who slipped the Readers Digest in my bag whilst sat in the Dr’s surgery – Yes I was that criminal!
There wasn’t any social media or televised trial cases then – I had to buy the monthly magazines which were on the top shelf (You know like – one of those magazines!) And then hide them in the house if I had visitors. Thankfully that is all behind me know – and I have ‘Come Out’ as a True Crime enthusiast. Jump onboard and enjoy the cases I’m covering – from my own research and personal opinions I lay it all on the table for you. I don’t let anything go un-noticed or take any statements, pieces of evidence at face value. Mentally I question everything and not necessarily to accuse but also to eliminate.
True Crime for me is the WHY ??? Was there no other answer? Couldn’t you just walk away? What did they do to you? What was there to gain from this crime/murder. My main pull in true crime, for me, is in cold cases. Looking back at how people continued in life thinking they were free or did they suffer also in their guilt? Again, It’s all about the WHY??
